Since Hairless went out of compatibility there is a modern alternative;
BaudWire which is a free download over at maketokeep.com/baudwire
It is a Serial to MIDI bridge for any of your projects that is up to date and ready to work. It is easy to use and quick.
This is macOS only unless there is a load of Windows users clawing for it.
There is a feature request if there is something you need, and bug submission should you encounter any errors.... But you wont.
Hope this helps!!
Much love!
