Binary file from sketch

When upload a sketch, where does Arduino IDE bury the binary file that is uploaded to the arduino board?

How would you go about uploading this binary file to an Arduino with software other than the Arduino IDE?

You can do File > Preferences > Show verbose output during > compilation (upload) > OK, then after compiling examine the contents of the black console window at the bottom of the IDE window to find the location of the temporary build folder.

Even easier, you can do Sketch > Export compiled binary , then Sketch > Show sketch folder and you will find the binary in the sketch folder.

Do File > Preferences > Show verbose output during > upload (check) > OK, then after an upload examine the contents of the black console window at the bottom of the IDE window to find the command used to do the upload.

Never noticed that option in 'sketch'. Thanks.

The file uploaded to the Arduino is ASCII hex, not binary
