Hi I am trying to put together a very slim small blue tooth midi controller with little pads on it.
Can someone please advise me what hardware I need to buy please?
I have seen someone else has made a controller but it has wire going to pieces of foil then to the board, I would just like to have little pads on the board or as near as possibe to the arduino board, I plan to make a tiny little case for it to go into.
Any advice would be much appriated.
I can't tell you exactly what you need but you can look for a Bluetooth shield for the Arduino.
And you might need another Arduino & Bluetooth shield on the other end. I assume you're connecting to a computer? As far as I know, Bluetooth is not standard for MIDI so you might not be able to use the Bluetooth built-into your computer so you might have to build your own interface with a USB or MIDI connection to the computer.
You might have latency (delay) issues. I'm not sure.
If you are a beginner, I suggest looking for ideas at Adafruit.

Yes it is.
I used a LightBlue Bean BLE board. LightBlue Bean : ID 2732 : $34.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits
Using the built in accelerometer to make a device that sent jingle bells when it was shaken and a "woo" noise when it was in free fall, caused by throwing it up in the air. You have 8 input for attaching stuff to it as well.
Perhaps knowing the number of pads you want and the dimensions of a "tiny little case" would help.
Bluetooth MIDI is becoming more common now but I believe it always uses Bluetooth LE (BLE). Earlier versions had latency that was completely unacceptable for live music. So it may depend on exactly what you want to use it with because BLE is only now becoming common on anything but Apple devices.

16 pads would be perfect.
I would like it to trigger apps on the ipad.
Something like this but with rubber pads about the size of a tabbaco tin for example Overview | Bluetooth LE MIDI Controller | Adafruit Learning System
thanks.
