I don't know if that camera is hackable or not. What I use are old digital cameras that use AA batteries. I am interested in stills rather than video. I went to Youtube and learned how to hack a sony DSC-w5, there are other cameras, you can hack as well. So yes you can use the Arduino to turn on a camera and take pictures, it just depends on the camera. You can also use servos to press the buttons if you don't want to, or can't, do a hack on the camera.
