Hello, what is your OS?
windows 11
Welcome!
Sorry I do not have one of these but it is important you tell us what that pop up says? What operating system are you using windoz, Linux ..etc? Have you tried using a good cable? Which version of the IDE are you using?
Hello,
Thank you for your post. I'll provide some steps to correctly establish the connection between the Opta and the Arduino PLC IDE. Please make sure that Arduino PLC IDE is updated to the latest version (1.1.0) before proceeding. You can download the latest version here: https://www.arduino.cc/en/software/#arduino-plc-ide
First, using Arduino IDE:
- Open Arduino IDE.
- Go to File > Examples > STM32H747_System > QSPIFormat.
- Make sure Arduino Opta WiFi is selected as the board.
- Upload the sketch to the device.
- Once the upload is completed, open the Serial Monitor.
- When prompted, type “y” and press Enter for all questions.
This step is important because the memory must be formatted using LittleFS for the PLC IDE to work correctly. - When the formatting finishes, press the RST button once to reboot the Opta.
After this, make sure to close Arduino IDE completely.
Next, using Arduino PLC IDE:
- Open Arduino PLC IDE (version 1.1.0).
- Create a new project (any name is fine).
- In the “Other” section, click Download to upload the PLC Runtime to the board.
Make sure the correct COM port is selected before starting the download. - Once the Runtime upload completes, go to Project > Refresh current target and confirm with Yes.
- Go to Online > Set up communication, select the correct port, and confirm.
- Finally, go to Online > Connect.
- If the connection is successful, you can upload the example sketch.
At this point, the Opta should be correctly connected and usable from the PLC environment.
I hope it helps. Best regards,
