Cannot get Arduino AVR boards installed

Hello!

I have been sitting awake for hours now trying to figure out how to get started with this..

Under Tools>Boards i can only get Arduino UNO, Mega 2560 and Nano to appear as the Arduino AVR boards.

I am trying to work with a Micro board, so naturally I tried to install the Arduino AVR boards 1.8.2 version, and no new boards were displayed under Tools>Boards .
I can however get other boards to be displayed when i install other board libraries....

I have then tried to install other versions of the Arduino AVR boards. I have tried complete fresh reinstalls of arduino, complete with the arduino15 folder.

None of it has worked even slightly. Still only UNO, Mega 2560 and Nano that are displayed as boards to choose from.

I have no idea what to do.
I have not worked with arduino much, and it was quite a while ago.
This was not the fun evening i expected to have..

Im working from a mac

Would appreciate any help and points in the right direction

I'm probably not able to help but some points.

Which operating system; looks like some form of Linux, Mac or maybe a Pi?

You should see far more than that; on my Windows system, a Micro and a lot of others are there by default. What happens when you remove the Sanguino?

Have you tried to re-install the IDE?
Maybe go back to an older version of the IDE or board manager?

Note:
can you reduce the size of the image so it's around 200 kB; for people with limited bandwidth, 1.25 MB chews away too much from people's limited bandwidth if one isn't on an unlimited package (like me when using a cell-phone).

Hey!

Thanks for the reply. Youre a real star  !

Im on a mac as the post says, but didnt mention it is OsMojave 10.14.6
And as the post says, yes i have tried complete reinstalls of the IDE, more than once.

Will try to remove the sanguino!

Sorry about the picture, hope that the explanation is enough also!

Sorry for missing the mac and the fact that you tried different versions.

Thank you very much!

As you mentioned, trying to remove the sanguino was a great idea.

I also realized when you mentioned it, that it never disapperared even when restalling the IDE and deleteng the various sub-folders.

I located the sanguino folder and deleted it.

Now everything works well and fine!
