I am using a CD4026 to display numbers from 0-9 on a 7 segment display. I am also using the carry out to clock the next CD4026. From the datasheet, the carry out appears after the 10th clock i.e after the first counting sequence. But, I am getting a carry out HIGH, when I switch on the circuit and it remains on from 0-4. The carry out staying on from 0-4 is not unusual. But isn't the carry out staying HIGH right when the circuit is switched on a little weird??
On reset, Cout is a '1'.
Cout is the clock divided by 5. So it is high 5 clocks low 5 clocks.

The low-to-high edge is the clock, the high-to-low edge is irrelevant.
