Charging 2.7v supercap with 5v but monitor with analogRead()

Yes, I'd like to patent the wheel, and the concept of braking.

Sheesh.

fungus:
They're obsolete, replaced by the NCP1402 (PFM!)

damn! my local free-shipping reseller just don't offer NCP1402SN33T1G (3.3v).
they got 5v version, tho.

anyway, it looks like a drop-in replacement, so I'll go with NCP1400 first, and replace them with NCP1402 if this ever gonna go into mass production... (I guess it just never will).

My current idea is:
5v USB --> LDO 3.0v --> Scotchy (Vf=0.2~0.3v) --> Super Cap --> Boost (3.3v) --> t85

what a stupid power path!

looking for a LDO with CE pin, so I can sense 5V rail and shutdown when it dropped too low.
like put a zener there to prevent the rail from dropping too much (5V -- |<zener 3.6v] -- CE), protect motherboard's USB.

I don't really care about the efficiency for the LDO, tho, since it's externally powered.........
