I am doing a project in which i required a 3.7V 2300mAh battery. I want to charge bettery via solar panel. While doing some research i came across certain LIPO charger for 3.7V and even their hack and schematic.
I understood the schematic, but i had some question
(a) If i am planning to charge a battery rated 3.7V 2300mAh, i need at-least 37% charging current(i got this via some video). So is it like that, if i vary R4 resistance as shown in the above link, i can get 3.7V 2300mAh battery charged at 37% of 2300 is 851 and by putting 1.3kOhm in place of R4, i can get 900mAh current. Please pardon me, but i have no clue with respect to that. As per my understanding, source(in my case solar panel must generate this much current).
(b) How can i use this breakout to charge the battery and at the same time power a controller also. Simply connect Vcc and Gnd to VCC and GND of controller? or is there any protection required?
studying the TP4056 datasheet instead will be of much help
that solar panel is way underdimensioned you need at least 5V and 1 amp, maybe less amps
you can power the module directly on the battery, when there is sun the panel charges the battery and powers the controller, when not, the battery will power the controller
i suggest you to use a Pro Mini 3.3V 8MHz, it will work wonderfully even at 4.2 volts (full charge)
you don't need to charge a LiIon battery at one third, you can do it at 1/10, just add the current drawn by your setup
be sure to not let the battery stay on a "float charge" (google it) the charger needs to be smart (read the datasheet) or you will end up with a dead battery in a week

I'm sure you know, but I'll say it anyway: LIPO batteries have to be charged CAREFULLY and CORRECTLY. Otherwise, they magically transform themselves into spitting, flaming chunks of hell on earth.
BE CAREFUL!
And, try to provide some sort of protective fireproof container or wrap for the LIPO pack. Even when charged properly, they can sometimes thermally run away and then you get the spitting flaming chunks........
