I am looking for the cheapest kind of butane soldering iron that would provide auto ignition.
How am I suppose to ignite this one? With a ligher?

Had anyone purchased a device like this? Tell me about your experience with it.

Thank you very much.

The ones I've seen like that, you spark it with a lighter (or, ideally, a torch igniter, like they use for welding - it's this little thing with a flint in a handle)

What do you want it for?

You realize that a butane torch soldering iron is not suitable for use on electronics (at least not PC boards), since you don't have any sort of temperature control. Temperature control on a soldering iron is essential if you're doing board work on it; otherwise, you're likely to damage the board by lifting pads (exposing the board to excessive temperatures damages the bonding between the substrate and the copper)

It is very handy to solder big wires, specifically when the house you are working on is disconnected from power. It is also good to work on cars, for heating heat-shrink tubing.

I have a soldering station otherwise.

The link is broke for me, it didn't work.

I recently scanned eBay for something I think what your talking about. I found this style:

Generic Torch

The torch is sold under 100 different names and types and I have had a few. The last one I bought was sold as a "cooking torch". They are the same basic construction, same valve, with different colors or a sleeve around the tank.

(edited: I just realized one in my link picture does not have a DIAL to regulate the fuel pressure out. The one I bought does have a dial, to dial how much gas. There is ALSO another one on the head of the burner, to adjust fuel / air mixture in case you have trouble starting and want to change the flame).

I think I paid like $8.00 for mine. It works good. I refill mine with a propane tank, and use it solder 8 gauge wires, thick wires together. I don't have a soldering iron strong enough to do large thick wires, and am not sure they even make one (if they do it probably cost too much since its not popular). They also sell them for fools who light cigars and think that since they paid $120 for it, then it must be good.

I can also braise metals together with it. Solder a metal hinge to an old tool box using regular solder. I'm exploring different ways I can just solder metal together it seems pretty strong.
