When I look at my UNO R4 WiFi device in the IOT web interface, I'm told that the WiFi module version is 0.5.2, but when I look at the serial monitor in the IDE, I'm told it's 0.6.0.
I only discovered the discrepancy after many hours of trying to update the firmware, only to be told by the web interface that it was still on the old version.
Can anyone confirm that the IDE info is the correct one, and that the web interface does indeed hold outdated information ? And is there a way to update it ?
Or am I misunderstanding something ?
Hi @markharr.
The information printed in Serial Monitor is correct. This comes directly from the hardware.
I believe this comes from information stored on Arduino Cloud, which is set when a firmware update is performed via Arduino Cloud (which may occur as part of the Device provisioning process). So it will not be accurate if you update the firmware via Arduino IDE.
You can try performing a firmware update via Arduino Cloud:
- Connect the UNO R4 WiFi board to your computer with a USB cable.
- Open the "Devices" page:
https://app.arduino.cc/devices
- Click on the "MRH_ArduinoWiFi_1" entry in the list of Devices.
The page for the "MRH_ArduinoWiFi_1" Device will open.
- Click on "Connectivity Module" in the panel on the bottom left hand side of the page.
The "Firmware Update" dialog will open.
- Select the UNO R4 WiFi board from the list of boards in the dialog.
- Continue through the rest of the firmware update process, following the guidance in the dialog.
Hopefully the firmware update process will complete successfully, and Arduino Cloud will then show the firmware version as 0.6.0.
OK, so the important thing is to know is that the IDE info is correct.
I've tried to use the cloud update, but it always complains about not finding the cloud agent (even though I can see I have the latest running).
Mac, Tahoe 26.0, Safari, restarted multiple times.
No need to help me with that unless there's an obvious a quick fix.
Thanks for confirming that my update worked.
