Computer Not Recognizing Arduino Nano 33 IoT Plugged in

Hey!
I am new to using Arduino boards, and for my first project, I am having issues. My computer is not recognizing my Arduino even when it is plugged in. It is not a problem with the cable as the Arduino's lights are blinking. I know that there have been prior conversations on the forum on how to fix the issue however, none of those solutions worked for me. Here is what I have done:

  • Change wires

  • Disconnect/unplugged all devices from the computer and bread board

  • Use another computer

  • Restart Arduino

For a while, I had suspected that I had damaged the board while soldering, and that there might be an issue with the actual USB port as I am using an adapter to connect.

You are using a power cable. You must use a data cable.

I got a data cable but the problem is still there - cant recognize the board

Hi @anand_daherkar. Please try this experiment and then report back with the results:

  1. Connect your Arduino board to your computer with the USB cable.
  2. Press and release the reset button on your Arduino board quickly twice.
  3. If it is already open, close the Tools > Port menu in Arduino IDE.
  4. Open the Tools > Port menu in Arduino IDE.

Now please reply here on the forum thread with the answers to the following questions:

  • Do you now see the LED on the board pulsing?
  • Do you see a port for the board in the Tools > Port menu?
