Connecting 5V to the A0 pin

Is the A0 pin capable of absorbing the 5V voltage for an extended period of time (24 or even 48 hours) and read the output? Or would this damage the Arduino?

I found information indicating that the A0 pin is designed to withstand this, but there is no data on whether it can handle it for an extended period of time.

No it would not damage the Arduino, but just to be safe you should connect a resistor between the 5V source and A0

Exactly what is the 5V source?
Which Arduino?

It will damage a 3.3V Arduino.
