controling 3V DC motor (on/off)

hi...
I wanna control a 3V DC motor using an arduino.
how can I turn my motor on and off???
at first I thought I can do something like turning an LED on or off, but then I realize that I can't.
please tell me how?????
and if you can tell me how can I do same thing with other DC motors (other voltages) I would be so happy.

Load the "Blink without Delay" example from the examples tab in the IDE menu. Compile and upload it to your board.

How else do you think you will do it? The pin will control a transistor or a motor shield, rather than directly controlling the motor, but the process is exactly the same.
