I am designing the crystal ball and have this circuit, which is in the attached picture, and FULL PRGRAMMING, and it still doesn't work. What is the problem with this arrangement?

I have to pay per MB for my internet connection. Please reduce your image to a sensible size ~ 225kB
Shouldn't there be a connection from the middle pin of the potmeter going to the 3rd pin of the lcd?
