Detect INTRUDERS using arduino

hello guys i'm new to arduino and this kind of projects and i need your help
let's say i have a room full of people some of them have id cards and some of them don't
i need to identify the people who doesn't have this card
in other word i need to detect INTRUDERS
ps: the range doesn't matter for me

It matters for the hardware You need.....
You need an none card carrier detect sensor. Any ideas?

First, solve each of the two completely different problems: detecting people, and detecting cards.

Then start thinking about how to match the two results.

Well the most common "cards" are RFID-cards. The problem with RFID-cards is:
you have to come very close to a card-reader. Maximum distance is 5 Millimeter.

Creating any kind of idea is done very quickly. Finding a technology that is able to realise the idea is the real challenge.

You should tell much more about the real situation where you want this system to use.
Which technology will be suitable highly depends on these details.
So how many persons are maximum in this room?
5 to 12 persons ?
or 50 persons?
or 500 persons?
or 5000 persons?

How do they get a card?

What is your budget ?
50 dollars?
200 dollars?
much more??

what are the people doing in this room?
Do you have the possability to use an entrance?
Things will become a 1000 times easier (this is no exaggeration) if you can use an entrance that only opens if a card is presented

This is the reason why in 99.5% of all places where you need an allowance to be is realised by an entrance instead of detecting people in the crowd.

Your headline is named detecting intruders.

This means you really would have to detect the persons = their body
and then in a second step
check if they have a card or not.

And here I second what jremington wrote

Detecting partciluar people in a crowd. Well if you have solved this problem the secret services of all countries around the world will knock at your door asking to buy it.
And some of them will just kidnap you to and take it away from you

Having such a technology is the dream of dreams for each secret service and each dictator

Then you need a facial recognition system and access to some sort of national database of peoples pictures.

Commercial facial recognition systems are available, but not in scope as an Arduino hobby project.

Is this a real project or has some given it to you for ideas ?

Not really, a local db with permitted attendees would be enough, then you alert when an unknown face is detected,

The OP said;

"i need to identify the people who doesn't have this card"

By which I would assume there was a need to know or identify who the people who should not have been there were.

No doubt the OP can be more specific and clear the confusion.

the facial recognition is the first thing i thought of but i need to see if there is another possibility

let's say i own a house
i give my family cards
and if a visitor came in also can give him a card so he's ok to be in my house because he has a card
but the intruder won't have a card at all
i hope this clarifies your question

I keep my credit cards in an RFID-proof wallet. I suppose if your magic device can’t find the card on me I will be shown to the door…

Hi, @minoux
Welcome to the forum.

Is this a school/college/university project?

Do you have control of people entering your room?

yes it's
what kind of control

yes it's
what kind of control ?

that's the goal lol

Hi,

If you make sure the entrants to your room scan their RFI cards as they enter the room, you can filter out any "intruders".
Use a turnstile like at a suburban railway station.

the goal here is to see if i can detect people who entered illegaly

.....security guard.
People tend to leave cards at home on the frig.
Not a good idea really all up.

i have to think about a solution for this too

@srnet makes a good point.
I read it as identify if ‘unrecognised’ people.

Your suggestion is perfectly correct.

He needs to contact the Chinese authorities to access their global databases.

Yes, if they do or do not have a RFID card at the entrance.
Why can't you do that, rather than waiting for the room to be populated.
