DFplayer Power Draw Despite GND Disconnection

So what do you suggest as a fool-proof method of prevening any curent from flowing through any connection between the ESP32 and the DFplayer while the DFplayer is powered down.

I'd go with a PMOS and optoisolators, as @Grumpy_Mike suggested. The NMOS is probably unnecessary.

Did you also mod the amplifier stage, as explained here.
Leo..

Thank you. Can u draw it here coz im not sure if i understeand it well

I can't explain it any better.
It involves isolating/disconnecting/lifting up pin1 of the 8002 audio amplifier chip, and connecting it with a piece of wire to the busy pin of the DFPlayer. You need smd soldering skills for this.
After that the amplifier part of the module is put to sleep when no music is playing.
Leo..

Maybe post an image of df player and put a line where need to connect

Here you go.
I had to lift pin1 off the board, because my module didn't have the 0ohm resistor that the board in the article has. The wire is soldered to the lifted/disconnected pin, and goes to the busy pin (was easier to solder the wire on the other side).

so first disconnect pin (blue circle) from PCB and then connect it to bussy pin

You've posted a pic showing two different players. "DFPlayer" is used in a generic sense, for real DFPlayers and clones alike, but the builds are not the same.
