Did I break my Arduino Uno?

I just bought my first Arduino board, it's an Uno R3 board, I bought a CNC shield with it to connect some motors and control them, and I bought a 12v 1.5a power supply to power the motors.

It was working fine at first, but while connecting the power supply to the CNC shield I think I shorted both the red and black wire by accident, and after that, the Arduino board seemingly stopped working.

It won't let me upload code to it and the reset button doesn't seem to do anything anymore. The built-in light and the ON light are both lit and not blinking.

I tried many troubleshooting guides and videos but they all seem to indicate that my board is toast, should I accept that and get a new one? or is there a chance that it's fixable?

Thanks in advance.

not sure which red and black wire you are talking about but bad things happen when you short a power supply...

I would suggest you purchase two more and keep this one as a reminder of what happens when wires are moved with the power on. It will make a nice mounting template if you remove the parts.
