directly connect wifi to arduino to set up wifi network

Hello Everyone,

i'm very new to the Arduino world and i have yet to understand what it is possible with those devices, i have an Arduino yun rev 2 and i'd like to create a program that allow an android smartphone to connect directly to the arduino and from that point send information to allow the arduino to connect to a wifi network saved on the smartphone . Is it possible to do that? do i need a shield or something else to achieve that.

thanks

Yes it is possible, : In some countries, it is prohibited to sell WiFi enabled devices without government approval. While waiting for proper certification, some local distributors are disabling WiFi functionality. Check with your dealer before purchasing a Yún if you believe you may live in such a country. It is also a retired board. Best do some more research before starting as it will be a lot of work.

ok thank you i didn't know that, also i didn't know the yun rev 2 was retired
since it is possible now i was looking for some documentation to start things off and to have a better idea of what i need but i can't really find what i am looking for, could you point me in the right direction
