The hackles come up, without even a denial! My comment is hardly wild speculation, and the response is typical of the industry, who get hacked all the time and then pay the ransom and remain silent about it.
@pert is not helping anyone in this thread.
I just checked, and Twilio was in fact hacked less than two years ago, and the hackers may still be working through the harvest.

Credentials of close to 10,000 employees were stolen during the months-long hacking spree.
