Don't see my Nano V3 when selecting Board & Port

My board says Nano V3 on it.

When I try to load the code onto the board, my options are Nano, Nano 33 and Nano 32. If I click on Nano, I can chose between ATmega328p, ATmega328p (old bootloader) and ATmega168.

I don't see V3 anywhere. Is my board outdated or should I select one of the options above?

Any help is appreciated.

Dave

The first attempt was done using Arduinos online.

I just downloaded the Arduino software and tried again and am left with an error message which can be seen in the screenshot below.

Any idea as to what I did wrong?

Yes, chose Nano >> ATmega328p
if that doesn't work then chose Nano >> ATmega328p (old bootloader)

one of those 2 should work. usually the old bootloader.

It is possible to burn a new boot loader if desired

The "programmer not responding" error is often a bad USB cable they often send with clone Nano's it's a very common issue. try another cable.

PS, I have a Mac, if it matters. These are my port options:

Sweet. Will do and report back in a minute or so

Same error message... :slightly_frowning_face:

using a known good cable?

Yea, it's a verified cable. It's saying "error uploading, check if the board is currently available"

in your screenshot of the error above you can see a button that says "Copy error messages" hit that and paste the new error message here.

You may need to install the CH340 driver on your Mac.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Great idea! A driver might be it! I'll search the forums for installation instructions and will report back

@BitSeeker may be right I forgot about that one

It was the CH340 Driver. Thank you for solving my problem. Solution accepted.
