ebay Current Sensor

Hi, I bought this module, both 5A and 30A versions. The modules I received look identical and have the same labeling, so how can I tell them apart? I don't see how they can be different unless the OUT pin is connected to a different pin on the U2 chip (I did not look there yet).

I assume I connect +5, GND and an analog in pin to the module pins, so maybe I just need to test them and see.

Look at the second line of text on the chip. The one that says "ELC-5A" is the +/-5A one. The one that says "ELC-30A" is the +/-30A one.

I really need to buy a microscope...so a different chip, eh...

Thanks!

Yes. I noticed that under "Description" in the 5A ad you pointed to it says: "1?The current sensor chips: ACS712ELC-05B;". I then checked the ad for a 30A version and it said: "1, the current sensor chips: ACS712ELC-30A;". It also had pictures with enough detail that I could read "ELC-30A" on the chip.
