Ehternet Shield 2

Can anyone help? I have mounted a genuine Arduino ethernet 2 shield on top of a Uno. I have supplied the uno with an external power supply and everything seems fine. I have loaded the code for DHCP and to display the IP address on the PC serial monitor. I have replaced the MAC address with the one on sticker on the back of the shield. The code compiles and downloads fine. The problem I have is when I open the serial monitor, its just remains blank with no IP shown. I have tried several examples of code with the same result. I'm assuming there may be a hardware issue here. The baud is set correct at 9600 in the serial monitor. Any suggestions welcome.

Please post your full sketch. If possible you should always post code directly in the forum thread as text using code tags (</> button on the toolbar). This will make it easy for anyone to look at it, which will increase the likelihood of you getting help. If the sketch is longer than the forum will allow then it's ok to add it as an attachment.

are you using the Ethernet2 library?

Thanks for replies. I realised soon after posting (and reading) the Ethernet 2 library is for the newer chip.
Now downloaded and working fine!

Hello,

Try this Ethernet library, here you can set Hostname also.

Thank You

@technofreek: Your library is for a w5100. The Ethernet Shield 2 is a w5500. Different library.
