ESP32 is not printing its ip address

Hi Everyone!
I have two ESP32S, 38 pin. Both of these are not printing their ip address. I am using Serial.println(WiFi.localIP()); to get ip address. I have programmed these with example code 'WifiScan' given in Arduino IDE. I have added 'Serial.println(WiFi.localIP());' to said code, I am getting Wifi networks list but not ip address.
Please help. Thanks

You have disconnected from your WiFi.
You scan for wireless networks.
So which IP address other than 0.0.0.0 would you expect to get?

Thanks for reply. I want to discover ip address of my ESP32 not of the Wifi network. Is it necessary to connect to a Wifi network to get this?

If you connect to the WiFi does it print??
If you don't connect I think this Serial.println(WiFi.localIP());
will not be run!

if you don't set a static IP in your sketch, the ESP will fetch a IP from the routers DHCP.
To make that working, the ESP has to connect to the wifi.
--> you have to connect to the wifi to get an IP.
