My Doit devkit v1 was working fine until one day it decided to not get uploaded to.
After some trying it finally works and uploded correctly. Now the esp heats up in 1 minute! To a point where its too hot to touch! I tried returning it but my request was denied. I used a step down buck convertor to power the esp via the VIN pin and it didnt heat up! Worked fine!
I just want to know what can i do to fix this weird issue.
PS: Both the chip and module heat up while connected to usb
That sounds like a project with problems. We’re more than happy to help with your design or code, but we need you to make an initial attempt. Please design and write your code, then post it along with an explanation of what’s not working properly.
Show how the power was connected when it worked with links to the hardware items.
Show Your Work First: Share your work along with details about what isn’t working.
Provide Clear Documentation: Since we can’t see your project, share an annotated schematic (best) or a clear drawing of your setup. Pictures are welcome, but avoid using Fritzing diagrams as they are wiring diagrams, not schematics, and are not ideal for troubleshooting.
Include Technical Details: If there is specific hardware involved, include links to technical information. There are often many versions of similar components, so precise details are essential.
Hi. Thanks for repyling at such a quick speed! Anyways I dont use a specific circut. I use it bare as i am not working at a big project currently, but i sometimes upload to it while its connected to l298N motor driver which obv pulls a bit too much current from my usb. I think its either some resistor or cap that died or my regulator maybe even my usb controller!
I hope its not the actual chip itself (prob not as all it works just as fine with VIN)
