Esp32 with a 4.0" screen displaying wrong in serial port. - SOLVED

Hello, first I'm using IDE 2.36. I got a new esp32 with a 4.0" LCD display this one. When I got to select the port It comes up as a Adafruit Grand central board on com3. and in device manager it display it as ch340 on com3. I honestly don't know what to make of this and Attaching a screenshot below. Has anyone had this problem before?

Joseph

What happens if you use "Select other board and port" or Tool/Board then Tools/Port from the menu ?

Hey @UKHeliBob good to see you again. You know the crazy thing is now that you mention it. This is a new laptop I just installed a few libraires and board. What I haven't done is installed anything for any esp boards. Haha I totally slipped my mind. Let me install esp boards and report back.

@UKHeliBob Bob man, That was my fault. New laptop and I didn't install the esp32 in the board manager and All good new. Thank yo for pointing out the board manager area.

I am glad that you got it working

I don't change my PCs very often but when I do it takes quite a while to get things back the way that I like them so I know how you feel

@UKHeliBob The motherboard on my laptop burned out. I don't change that my laptop often either. My laptop was 8 years old. To get a new motherboard for it would cost me just as much as a new laptop. This laptop wasn't costly but it wasn't cheap either. Around $500 USD. The cheaper ones was slower with less memory and hard drive space. The more costly ones was better then this in specs but also I don't use my laptop for much other then coding. My desktop is 10 times more spec then any of them laptops ever been.
