ESP8266 Heltec NodeMCU with onboard LCD not recognized by Arduino Cloud App

I bought an ESP8266 Heltec NodeMCU with onboard LCD display. It works fine with the Arduino IDE on my Windows PC as "ESP8266 Generic Module". However when I try to use it in an IOT project, the Arduino Cloud application does not recognize the module. Can anybody help? Thanks!

I'm not sure I understood correctly what you mean by "does not recognize". Please provide a more detailed description of what you mean by this in a reply on this forum thread to help us to understand it.

Sorry, I was a little sloppy in my request ... in detail:

• created a device in IOT Cloud (ESP8266 Generic Module, b/c this is working in IDE).
• associated this device to an existing thing.
• open sketch.
• cannot upload the sketch, USB does not connect to the module.

I have the latest CreateAgent running on my machine (just updated).

Arduino Cloud may not have direct support for this specific variant. Let's see anybody has succeeded.
