Im just using 2 Servos attached to my ESP 32 WROOM 32E and powered it with my laptop
I got the same error yesterday. I had been playing with an UNO and let my computer go to sleep for the afternoon. When I came back to it and woke up the computer my port was missing and I kept getting the same error message you posted. I had to exit the IDE and restart it. That fixed it.
Not surprising. When your PC sleeps, the USB may be shutdown by power saving settings. It’s not uncommon for applications to fail to re-init USB/serial connections when the PC wakes up, leaving the connections invalid.
If you want anything USB-related to function correctly through a ‘sleep’, you need to force it to keep your USB functioning, usually through setting your power options in the PC setup.
That, of course, only addresses this particular part of your thread here, so carry on.
Good to hear. I wasn’t very specific, because it’s extremely dependent on manufacturer, OS, platform(desktop, portable, tablet, etc.), so a lot of intended helpful information might be useless.
I am incredibly mechanical savvy but not very computer savvy at all. If someone can point me in the right direction I can use AI to help out from there.
