You have an interrupt conflict. Both the tone library and the NewPing library use the same interrupt.

Finalmente, no hagas complicadas las cosas. El error por si solo a veces dice mucho pero reproducir lo que ocurre también.
Publica el código que genera como así también, que IDE, que sistema operativo estas usando, la placa Arduino u otra y si hay alguna librería especial de donde se la descarga.
