The error says:

Failed to install platform: arduino:avr.
Error: 2 UNKNOWN: Get "http://downloads.arduino.cc/cores/staging/avr-1.8.6.tar.bz2": read tcp 192.168.0.104:64317->104.18.12.241:80: wsarecv: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

what should i do?

well, I just installed Arduino IDE and the output window says that its failed to install platform avr

Is this IDE version 2.0.3 ?

Have you got an Internet connection when you start the IDE for the first time ?

If I remember correctly IDE 2.0 needs to install platform support files when it is first started as they are not part of the IDE itself unlike version 1, but I could be wrong

Well, i think so, since my laptop always connected to the internet

Hi @bimaputra. Does the problem still occur if you try again now?

This type of problem might be caused by a transient network outage. These usually resolve themselves after a matter of minutes; hours at worst. If so in this case, I would expect you would no longer experience the problem now.
