Anyone know where I can get preferable extended leg header pins. that are female header pins 2 row 13 pin .1" spacing. they don't ahve to be gold flashed tin plated would be fine. I found some at DIY Drones but I'm looking to buy in bulk and looking for more like a digikey, newark solution or manufacture direct.
Thanks for the thought Dustin. Unfortunately 2x13 is not a common size and mouser only deals with one 26 pin connector and there price is pretty high respectively. There was a vendor that helped me out that was a member of this form about 1-2 years ago and I can't seam to track him down.
Couldn't you just use break-away headers? I have used 2x40 headers and broke off into the sections I needed... Anyway, check out dipmicro (- dipmicro electronics), I have bought a lot of headers from them and they are rather cheap and of pretty good quality.
However I've haven't had any luck contacting them yet. I want 2x12 which is probably not common and will have a minimum order qty as well.
My backup plan is to use 4 x 6-way Arduino headers mounted together.
Can you go down to 2x12, or maybe I can go up to 2x13 so we could possibly get a larger order. Just a thought, let me know if you have any luck with them.
Rob
Update: I just tried their online quote system,
looking for 10 x SSQ-1-12-23-F-D (2x12 sockets, 10mm tails, low insertion force), $1.52 each. No mention of min quantities etc so maybe that's not an issue although freight is sometimes a killer for small orders.
Samtec is actually the vendor i use quite often. There great about giving samples too. I could do 1x13 and a 1x12 i actually need 25 slots but cutting the lead off of 1 is easier then making a stand alone pin. I'll be purchasing a quantity of 200-300 headers in the next few weeks. Still pricing around. $2.00-$2.50 seams to be the norm before shipping per piece.

Hmm, unless you really need them to be the highest quality, they can be had for much cheaper (http://www.dipmicro.com), I have bought lots of headers from them and have been very happy with what they offer.
The build quality is actually pretty good in my opinion.
But as far as I can see the only size they seem to have is 2x40 with short tails. At 32c it would be worth just getting them and cutting down but we need long tails so they can be stackable.
They do have a lot of neat stuff though, I'll have to have a good browse around their site.
