First time really diving into Arduino, When I go to upload I get an error that I cant figure out how to solve

Using Arduino Avrdude, stk500, Bootloader issues

Long story short im trying to test my program but when i go to upload it to my arduino it pops up with this error message....
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\.\COM4": The system cannot find the file specified.

I went to ChatGPT and it said to do a couple of things ive tried a few things but it still doesnt work like ive tried using a different port, or changing the COM. I havent tried the loopback thing with the Tx and Rx but im going to try that next. I wasnt sure if yall knew any definite solutions. Thanks guys.

Well I meant changing the port like physically and then the com in the device manager. I’m not sure if It makes a difference but it suggested it so I went ahead and tried it

you should choose that COM port that appear when you stick USB cable from arduino in PC

It popped up as com3 then I changed it to com4 just to see, I’ll change it back.
