Flashing light on led

I just got my hands on an Arduino Uno, decided to make a clock out of it. The 4 digit 7 segment common anode display took up almost all of the io pins. I made sure to hook the resistors to each segment(220 ohms because the tutorial i followed online said to use 220 - 330 ohms) i let it run by making it display a 10 minute timer. I left it on the desk for a while and upon returning, the display almost had no segment lighting up. I pressed the reset button but there was no changes. I re pinned the wires making sure they were corrected properly and checked for faults with a multimeter. The L led built in on the board seems to be flashing (on then off but then turns on a little, then turns off before turning on again. Thoughts?

It's either a software problem or a hardware problem.

If you used Arduino pin 13 in your sketch, the LED_BUILTIN is following those instructions.

@jim-p is giving you a hint. We need much more information to be able to hep you.
