Getting EasySteppers into fullstep mode

Hi!

Maybe somebody has experience with this:

I would like to run EasySteppers in full step mode and not microstepping mode.
In the docs it is mentioned that one has to pull MS1 and MS2 low to set full stepping
mode.

(bottom of the page)

I connected MS1 and MS2 to GND via 2 10k resitors.
Unfortunately it does dot work. I do 200 steps and the motor rotates the same
as in 1/8 mode. Or does “pull low” mean something else?!

Is the wiring correct (attached image)?

Thanks in advance!

It appears that the board uses 10k resisters to pull the pins to Vcc, so using another 10k resister to “pull” the pin to low will only lower the pin to Vcc/2. A voltmeter would confirm this. And that likely leaves the device in its normal mode.

I would suggest connecting those pins to ground directly.

Thanks for reply!

Ive done that. Then the motor just "beeps" and does nothing. :frowning:

Got it: the stepping frequency was too high. I had 80uS and 700uS are
fine now.

Thanks anyway!
