GRBL or Laser GRBL

Hello, I am new to the Arduino projects, I have built a diode laser engraver , I have an Arduino Uno and a Maker shield cnc controler, I wish to use GRBL as the operating software, my question is : Do I need to down load and install GRBL, or Laser GRBL or both in order to operate my laser?

Thanks for the quick reply zwieblum, I should ask the question: will one work without the other, or is the laser grbl an add on or a program on it's own?

Normal GRBL is 3 axis + PWM for spindle + extra digital IO, Laser GRBL is 2 axis + "extra" PWM for the laser + extra digital IO. The differences are in the WPM signal for spindle/laser and the missing Z-axis.
