GxEPD2 Adding support for ES108FC2

Hello all,

bigger EINK screens are really expensive in comparison to normal LC-Screens. I found a quite cheap panel which seems like a great panel:

  • 10.8 inch
  • FHD Resolution (1920x1080)
  • 16 Gray-Levels

For me it would be of interest how much effort is it to Add the support of this panel to the library of @ZinggJM ?

I found a datasheet for that display: See here

I think there are also some other great displays like this model: ED113TC1 - which is even bigger and offers a better resolution. For me it’s kinda annoying that all those panels using different connectors, drivers and protocols…

Would be great if @ZinggJM can join this thread and share his thoughts about the mentioned displays.

Did you notice this review remark?

dont follow standards for eink on ESP32. Cant use it as the connectors are not compatible. An driver board is needed but appears to be great.

I would be interested in this display, if someone finds a driver board for it.
But I don't think I would add it to GxEPD2, as it is not an SPI panel.

Hi,
Thank you for the input - I did some research and for big panels like that the recommend driver board is an IT8951 on alibaba / AliExpress it costs just 40$ .. I will see if one of the mentioned panels are compatible.

So, after some checking the driver board still seems a good way. Because it can be used with an esp32 or raspberry pi.

I have to do some research - which panel is compatible…
