If AC power line, I would use a split core transformer. The output would be AC and be proportional to the current.

That type of Hall Effect sensor is not designed for current sensing. It is a Magnetic Detector: A3144 Hall Effect Sensor Pinout, Working, Alternatives & Datasheet A very good non-invasive alternative especially for detecting machinery are Vibration Sensors.
