Hello All,
**THERE ARE TWO SCRIPTS HERE THE FIRST ONE WORKS, THE SECOND ON FAILS WHEN I ADD VOID PAINTROOM()**
I am writing this Script I found and am editing, for my use, to a ESP8266 NodeMCU Board
I want to add a "void paintroom()" to this script so that the if else statement " if (i==1) //1 = Paint Room" can call the void Paint Room() where the word Paint Room is added.
I tried it and keep getting failed compiles that I can't find a way to fix the problems.
Please help if you can

Paint Room isn’t a word, it’s TWO words ?
The C languages are predicated on ‘white space’ hence the (space) between the words is important to the language.
it could be a (tab), or (newline), but that air between the words is meaningful.
Try replacing Paint Room with Paint_Room.

that which you call a void() is a function. this was mentioned but not explained above
your function name is paintroom. it is traditional to capitalize the first letter of words after the first word, so a function named lockandload would be lockAndLoad. this enhances readability for others
It is also traditional to capitalize the first word in a sentence.

I am writing this Script that I found, and I am editing it for my use, for a ESP8266 NodeMCU Board
I want to add a "void PaintRoom()" to this script called from the if else statement "if (i==1) call the void PaintRoom()
I tried it and keep getting failed compiles and even making some global vaiables I can't find a way to fix the problems.
**THE FIST SCRIPT WORKS. THE SECOND SCRIPT FAILS WHEN I ADD THE VOIR PAINTROOM()**

I was hoping a member of the forum who has an ESP8266 module to copy my code and run it to see the errors. I would think that would be the easiest way to figure out the problem.
Do you think it is too much to ask if someone has the ESP8266 module to copy and paste the script? There is no setting up breadboards or LED's to test this script.
Please post the three things I asked for. Your problem is in borrowing and mixing code you have few clues about; it is necessary to see what you are working with and where the pieces came from and the context from which you ruthlessly ripped them.

So no one will need an esp to try to run your code (executable code is produced during compiling....) or more precise after linking.
First your code needs to compile...
Look for this bit in your code: String relayState(int).
You will probably find it two (or three?) times. One if them needs to be removed.

When I try to compile your sketches, I immediately see a failure that I do not have all the files I need to fully compile your sketches. Let us know where you installed ESP8266WiFi... via the IDE or via the repository (manually downloading the library).
This is your PaintRoom() function... You could put it into a test HTML file and see if it shows any errors (HTML is very forgiving and will ignore syntax errors, usually showing as blank screens or empty spaces):
