Hello Arduinites-new member here

Hello arduino world. I am a new member here. My name is Scott. I am middle aged and have recently gotten interested in electronics. I am very new to the electronic world and very new to programming. I chose the arduino for two reasons. #1 There's tons of support online. And #2 I am a welder/fabricator that owns my own (very small) business. Many of the online automation and CNC projects in that world are arduino based.

I don't belong to any forums online, but thought I would join this one because I am having a hang up on my 1st legit arduino project. I will figure out where to post my problem later but for now, I think the general way to go about joining a forum is to introduce yourself first, so here I am.

Welcome to the forum

If you have a problem with a sketch that will not compile or does not do what you expect it to then probably the best place to post would be Programming - Arduino Forum

There are hardware specific forum categories but that is a general purpose forum category and makes a good staring point. Your topic can be moved to a more relevant forum category if it is felt appropriate to do so.

When you post please give full details of your project including the Ardiuino board used, how it is powered and post the full sketch and any error messages, using code tags for both. Depending on the nature of the problem, a schematic of your project can also be helpful.

The more information that you can give the more likely it is that we can help you

Have you read

Yes I have read that link.

Yep the problem is a math issue that is not returning the expected result. I will post more about it and figure out how to post the code in your suggested subforum.

In my experience the easiest way to tidy up the code and add the code tags is as follows
Start by tidying up your code by using Tools/Auto Format in the IDE to make it easier to read. Then use Edit/Copy for Forum and paste what was copied in a new reply. Code tags will have been added to the code to make it easy to read in the forum thus making it easier to provide help.

Ok thanks.

Is there an official arduino forum app for android?
