Beating myself up trying to find a TRUE PREPAID SIM card... i search for pre-paid and I see "umlimited data" "activate" "monthly service".... No. This thing will probably only send 300 SMSs and make 1min of calls per month. I do not want a monthly plan, cost is a big factor. It is to use in a SIM900 and connect to HA of ESP32s for emergency phone (the "ive fallen and I can't get up" style)...
If you can help me locate one, I will be very happy...
These SIMs work in the 'states? I just want it for a emergency phone and to send SMS, possibly make automated phone calls to certain contacts if there is fire or break-in detected... that sorta thing... using it with a SIM800L (wierd operating V).
Tracfone.
I am guessing that the SIM900 is unlocked so purchase a SIM from Tracfone.
They sell ones for AT&T or T-mobile.
Buy the 3-month card for $19.99 and keep renewing every 3 months. https://www.tracfone.com/activation/coveragecheck
It's in my signature line: "Just because I live in the states don't mean I care"... a ref to our POS POTUS.... $19 for 3 mos is a little steep but I guess... don't really need a sim for 911 anyhow...

The 3-month card won't support the expected 300 texts/month. Go to Tracfone's website and you can add 1000 texts for $5, and the last couple of years whenever I've bought any airtime/text/etc online, during checkout there was an offer to add a year of service for $49.99, that's about as cheap as I've found if you can keep the voice calls to a minimum.

Now you know that few people bother to read signature lines
And even if they were read regularly it would have been a very vague way to communicate a piece of information that was so essential to getting a useful answer.
Finally, the USA isn't the only place in the world that is divided into states.

That $49.99 does not include any minutes.
He says he makes 1 minute of calls a month.
