Help Needed with Button Box Code for 5 Rotary Encoders

Hi there,

I am new to all this and looking for help with a project for a button box. The guidance I had provided code for a 5x5 matrix with 4 rotary encoders. I would like to use a 4x4 matrix with 5 rotary encoders.

Here is my modified code, I can't get the rotary encoder to work on pins 8,9. Anyone able to help?

Thanks!

I see one obstacle in helping You. No wiring posted.

Sorry about that.

Here is the Rotaries:

Here is the buttons:

I attached the wiring pictures.

What kind of pins are pin 8 and 9 on a Micro? (I'm an UNO guy)
Check what characteristics are needed for rotary encoders. Does pin 8 and 9 have that? Interrupt capability..... Look up the technical manual of the Micro and compare pin 8/9 with the ones working.

rotariesdef rotaries[NUMROTARIES] {
  {0,1,24,25,0},
  {2,3,26,27,0},
  {4,5,28,29,0},
  {6,7,30,31,0},
  {8,9,32,33,0},
};

The problem is the joystick has 32 buttons but the last row of the array for the fifth rotary encoder specifies buttons 32 and 33. Use buttons 22 and 23 instead.
