But most of the code isn't needed
All i want at the moment is the storm effects to start when the arduino is plugged in to power source. ( i dont need any of the other code acid cloud etc.
At the moment i just have a ws2812b strip attached directly to the arduino UNO
Please can someone help me just to get the code i need

That's your first mistake. How many LEDs are on this strip?
Why not experiment by taking out some lines of code and see if it works? This is apart of learning.
60 on my strip, ive managed to get it working using a different storm effect that i found but id prefer to use the ones from the code i listed as they give a better effect.
I did try looking to see what code i could use but because its got code for a remote and a mic i wasnt sure what i needed to keep and what i didnt
