Help with the Nano

I have a Nano and I am working on a project right now, ive written code that works, but when I upload it I get this error code:

Also, don't know if its worth mentioning but the Nano itself got very hot while uploading it.

Try changing the processor to ATmega328P in the IDE Tools menu

Is that the full error message ?

In file -> preferences, enable "verbose output during upload" and disable "verbose output during compilation".

Try to upload again and copy the result here; if it's too big (usually not), you can put the result in a text file and attach to a post.

Note that you might also have a Nano based on the 168P chip instead of the 328P chip; another option to try.

Question is if it ever worked with that Nano or not. If it worked in the past, what was connected when upload succeeded the last time?

Is anything connected to pins 0 and 1 at the moment? That might interfere with the upload.

I did as you suggested, and no nothing is connected to 1 or 0

COM1 is hardly ever the Arduino. Check under tools -> ports. If none show (or only COM1), check in Windows device manager what happens when you connect the board. Does a new COM port show? Does something (new) with a yellow triangle show?

COM1 is the only port avaliable, on windows device manager it is called serial port and there is a yellow triangle

What is the error that comes with the yellow triangle? You might have to dig a little in device manager or even elsewhere in Windows.

I don't think that I can help further.

I would unplug the Arduino, uninstall the COM port in Device Manager and plug in the Arduino again with Device Manager open and see what happens
