All the information is there. Looks like a dual gang slider pot. The dimensioning drawing shows the pin numbers and the electrical drawing shows which pin numbers relate to which connections on the pot.
If you want a single pot, then use either the upper 1,2 & 3 pins or the lower 1,2 & 3 pins.
Are the pins labeled with numbers on the front side of the pot? Do you have (and know how to use) an Ohmmeter?
Hi thanks for your reply, however I don’t understand. When you say upper pins, do you mean if you draw a line horizontally through the drawing? Then which is my negative and positive and wiper pin?
Thank you
No numbers on the slider itself.
Thank you
1 to 5V (or 3.3V if using a 3.3V Arduino)
2 3 to GND
3 2 to Arduino analog pin
1 --> +5 Volt
2 --> Ain @ Arduino
3 --> GND
Two difference of opinions here.
PaulP is definitely correct.
Are you saying the bottom set under the centre line.
Thanks
Yes. Or the top set above the centre line. Doesn't matter which.
Whoops, I made the error. I have corrected post #6, now matches the other suggestion.
Thank you everyone, I've got it connect, however the slider seem to reach max at mid point, when testing in windows. I have used the game controller settings in windows to calibrate it but the problem remains?? Any thoughts?
Thank you.
Also the pot seems to get hot very quickly.
How have you wired your pot?
Is it a logarithmic or linear pot?
That doesn't sound good. What value is the pot?
Or semi logarithmic?
They are Linear,
Wired as advised above.
Post a picture
B103 is linear 10k pot.
Only way to heat it up with 5v is to put 5V on wiper, ground on one end and then slide wiper to near ground...
So it seems it is not connected correctly...
