If they're consistently literally flaming out, your current demand is too high by at least a factor of 10x! Your design is not even CLOSE.

The motor driver is rated for 13A though, and the linear actuator uses 13A max.

You can't run a driver at 100% all the time. derate to 75%! 13A? you need a 20A driver.

I know, but the driver I tried is the highest powered motor driver IC I could find. And the linear actuator only uses 13A as the max. Normally it uses ~5A.
