Holey Board - GHI Electronics

Are there any other companies making boards like this? I want to find a cheap one that I can attach any of my ebay modules onto using the brass standoff screws. What would it be called if I wanted to search for something similar on ebay?

perfboard? lots of places carry that.
I prefer Velleman ECS1/2

Shop around.

Less expensive (lower quality - hole spacing & diameter variation) versions are also available.

Examining the pictures - it is not perfboard. It is holey board.- specifically designed for mounting things.

("holey" as in full of holes for mounting standoffs, as opposed to full of holes for connecting wires which require much smaller holes)

A more accurate name would be "Standoff Proto board"

It looks nice but for that application a sheet of 1/8" G10 is easy to cut on the bandsaw and take a few minutes to drill the holes and when you buy 3' x 4' sheets like we have at work the cost is pennies.
A hobbyist can get 12" X 12" G10 laminate sheet
for less than the little "holey" board.
The only justification for buying the holey board as opposed to G10 is not having a drill or not knowing how
to use one (which I somehow find hard to imagine). (unless you can't spare 1 minute to drill 16 or 20 holes
(2 seconds each) )

Yes, I'd rather go smaller holes so components could be added, and drill out a few larger as needed.

Hi,

Holes are Gadgeteer compatible spaced on a 5mm grid with each being 3.2mm in size.

  • 182.25mm x 97.17mm x 1.5mm
  • 36.86g

As quoted holes 3.2mm in size.

try ebay

I get most of my perf board at auction on ebay, that way I pay what I want to pay, most of the time I miss out but sometimes I get a hit, go for free postage.
