Hello,
I have an old SD card slot that I would like to salvage, if possible.
I have an SD card that fits it, but I am unsure which pins to connect to my arduino.
Most tutorials I found online use either eight or nine pins, my slot seems to have eleven. If there is anyone out there who could lend me some advice, your help would be greatly appreciated.
If you google "MMC pinout" - MMC = Multi Media Card, you should get plenty of hits. Take a look at the images as I found several showing the pinouts. They have 9 pins for the card, and the remaining 2 pins (the 2 pins on the left of the socket in your picture) are probably Card Detect (a simple mechanical switch inside the socket that is opened/closed by inserting the card in the socket) and Write Protect (another simple mechanical switch that detects the position of the plastic lock slider on the side of the card).
