How to Change USB name of UNO

Hi Eveyone

I been searching high and low for a guideline to change the COM port name, Currently hard coding hwid
using pyserial.Its painfull to to note down ser and PID numbers

for my application multiple arduino connected to pc.

What name are you looking to change? Windows barely has "names" for its com ports; just "COM3:" and such. Most of the USB info (vendorID, productID, Manufacturer, Product, SerialNumber) is not very accessible to users...

What CAN be changed, you can change by building and burning new firmware for the 16u2 Serial/USB converter chip.
