How to control actuator using Keyence sensor

Hi,

Im newbie to this arduino and electronic stuffs.
I bought 2 KEYENCE FS-N41N (Digital Fiber Optic Sensor - FS-N40 series | KEYENCE America), 1 power supply, and 1 solenoid valve.
The keyence sensor has 3 wires, brown(12 to 24vdc), black(5 to 40vdc through a load) and blue(0vdc).
The solenoid valve has 2 wires only, red and blue.

Can someone guide me on how to connect these things with arduino. 2 sensors as my 2 input and solenoid valve as my output.

Thanks in advance for your kindness in helping me out.

The thread you latched on to already explains how to hook up the sensor.

Solenoids typically get hooked up like this (or a mosfet); details depend on well, the details....

Thanks 12Stepper for your help. Let me try to work it out.

Hello,

The solenoid valve consume a lot of current

How intensity in the coil in the starting ?

what is the Voltage and the Current of this solenoid-valve ( is it for water ?)

use a relay.

john

You cannot connect the 12 ~ 24V output directly to an Arduino input ( 3.3 or 5V) depending on which Arduino model you have. You will need to use a voltage divider to reduce the voltage below the Arduino's supply voltage.

use a relay.

yes I used relay for the connection

New problem is I can't figure out how to connect this sensor

Hello adliakil,

Have you read my Post number 12 in Topic "How to connect keyence sensor" ??

dated 17 dec

the relay will be connected in LOAD on schematic, by coil of relay in 12 Volts (coil 12 V)

Two wires in +12 Volts and a wire in GND

Read the Post number 12 for other
