i would like to get some for nothing or almost. I am looking for very tiny gears for this purpose, the shafts are not really a problem for me, they are easy to find and work. I am looking for like 1cm diameter gears in average... Do you think i can't make better than buying them ? Can i make them ?

There are often tiny gears in old CD drives and printers, if you have a source of those.

Personally I would either buy some or go skip diving for printers, photocopiers and cd drives
